    Marine Roofing Ply

Hi, I have already finished my flat roof using 18mm marine ply as recommended by my timber supplier and not OSB as reccomended by most GRP guides. An oversight by me but is this an issue or can I lay GRP directy onto the marine ply?

    Any advice gratefully received.

Marine ply is an acceptable deck but the surface is very smooth compared to OSB3. For this reason the plywood surface should be distressed (heavily keyed and even slashed with Stanley knife) to increase the bonding strength of the resin. If this is not done there is a reasonable chance that the completed fibreglass could become detached from the plywood in the future.
